# Redirect http to https

Redirection of http-protocol traffic to https is done within two places in the interface:

* Secure CDN: [Instances / Edit Instance / Redirect HTTP to HTTPS](/product-guides/secure-cdn/interface/instances.md#redirect-http-to-https)
* Web DDoS: [Instances / TLS Settings / Redirect HTTP to HTTPS](/product-guides/web-ddos/interface/instances/tls-settings.md#redirect-http-to-https)

{% hint style="info" %}
When Secure CDN and Web DDoS Protection are both being used, then strictly speaking, the Secure CDN setting is all that's necessary for http redirection. \
\
However, we recommend that admins configure both. This avoids any potential issues due to later configuration changes, or if traffic gets sent directly to the Web DDoS instance.
{% endhint %}
