# Monitor Link11 Services and Connectivity

Link11 has deployed several probes on various Link11 data center locations / POPs around the world.\
Those probes are used for internal monitoring of the Link11 services, but may also be used by customers to check their connectivity to various locations around the world within the Link11 network.

## Information <a href="#howto-monitorlink11servicesfromexternal-information" id="howto-monitorlink11servicesfromexternal-information"></a>

Link11's internal monitoring is based on a software called “smokeping” which sends continues ICMP ping messages towards the target to checks its latency, packet-loss and general availability.

This will cause access log entries on the customer's backend / origin servers from various Link11 IP addresses. (See below for the full list of domains resolving to the most recent IPs.)

Those request will always have a user-agent containing the string “smokebot”:

```

To monitor these probes, the customer may set up simple ICMP / ping checks towards the domains shown below:

1. European Probes

   3. [ping-nyc1.link11.com](http://ping-nyc1.link11.com/)
3. Asian Probes
   1. [ping-sgp1.link11.com](http://ping-sgp1.link11.com/)
