# Captcha URL List

<figure><img src="/files/JdChgUhQyi61Ne2JVr1p" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

The Captcha URL List will force all visitors to the URL Path to complete a Captcha challenge.

{% hint style="info" %}
This feature applies captchas to **all** visitors to URLs within the specified path. \
\
If targeted captcha challenges are desired, other options are available:

* To only display captchas to traffic sources identified to be bad bots, set the [Default Policy for Bad Bots](/product-guides/web-ddos/interface/instances/general-settings.md#default-policy-for-bad-bots) to "captcha".
* To only display captchas to suspicious IPs, enable [CAPTCHA Defense](/product-guides/web-ddos/interface/instances/ddos-mitigation.md#captcha-defense).
  {% endhint %}

The Captcha URL List feature cannot be applied to the website's root (“/”) location, and it must contain at least one sub path.

URLs can be defined as:

* **Exact**: only requests made explicitly to this path will receive a Captcha challenge.
* **Only beginning**: requests made to the defined path and to any sub paths will receive a Captcha challenge.
