# IPv6 Support

### Does Link11 Support IPv6? <a href="#ipv6support-doeslink11supportipv6" id="ipv6support-doeslink11supportipv6"></a>

The Link11 WebDDoS service does not explicitly support IPv6 requests. Customers are provided with an IPv4 IP address to point their DNS A records towards. However the WebDDoS filtering as well as the WAF and Bot Management services are IP protocol agnostic, and can process IPv6 traffic after a NAT 6 to 4 translation.

To forward IPv6 traffic to Link11, a CDN instance is required. Pointing an AAAA record to the CNAME provided by Link11 will result in a NAT 6 to 4 translation of the traffic before the traffic (now IPv4) is passed onto the WebDDoS, Bot Management and WAF services of Link11.

Traffic passed to the customer origin will be sent from an IPv4 source address but will contain the original IPv6 source address of the client in the X-Forwarded-For header.
