# API Access

The Link11 Secure DNS service has an API (application programming interface).&#x20;

To set up an API connection, first click on the Edit Button.

This will open the API Access List. Whitelist your network IP address here.

Clicking on Edit will save the changes made. After this, click on Show API Key.

This will display a passcode, known in the API documentation as a [Domain Key](/using-link11/api/introduction.md#domain-keys). To use the API, this passcode must be sent from a whitelisted IP.
