# API Access

The Link11 Network DDoS Protection service has an API (application programming interface). Commands can be sent against individual instances.

To set up an API connection, start by clicking the Edit button.

This will open the API Access List. Whitelist your network IP address here:

Clicking on Edit will save the changes made.&#x20;

After this, in the main window, click on the Show API Key for the appropriate instance:

This will display a passcode, known in the API documentation as a [Domain Key](/using-link11/api/introduction.md#domain-keys). To use the API, this passcode must be sent from a whitelisted IP.
