# Load Balancing

Load balancing on Network DDoS is possible for inbound and outbound traffic using standard BGP traffic engineering.

## **Customer Outbound Traffic**

Link11 use the BGP protocol, which automatically routes traffic over the most efficient path in a network (using default settings). If the customer uses two or more BGP sessions on the same router, load balancing can be achieved using multipath routing.

LOCAL\_PREF can be used by customers to assign values to different networks/session.

For large networks, using multiple backbone routers, traffic can be steered in own ASN to edge routers, and forwarded to upstream providers, Link11.

Link11 can not control what other providers will do with the traffic we forward.

## **Customer Inbound Traffic**

In this setup, the customer announces networks to Link11, and Link11 routes the traffic to the customer. If the customer announces own networks over multiple sessions, the traffic can be steered using MED or AS path prepend.
