# Usage Events

## Overview <a href="#id-account-usageevents-usageevents-webgui" id="id-account-usageevents-usageevents-webgui"></a>

Usage Events enable users to set custom thresholds for certain usage metrics of Link11 products. These thresholds are evaluated once a day, and users are notified by email if any are exceeded, allowing users to track their usage and react accordingly.

Currently, the following usage metrics can be tracked:

### **Web DDoS**

* **Traffic**: traffic in GB transmitted for the current month
* **Requests**: total requests for the current month

### **Secure CDN**

* **Traffic**: traffic in GB transmitted for the current month
* **Requests**: total requests for the current month

### Network **DDoS**

* **Traffic**: traffic in GB transmitted for the current month
* **Bandwidth**: 95/5 traffic in Mbps for the current month
  * Note: 95/5 Bandwidth is not cumulative. The threshold is considered exceeded if any traffic level exceeds the set limit. It is possible for the 95/5 Bandwidth limit to be exceeded at any point in the month.

Thresholds are compared against the cumulative usage metrics of the respective month once per day at UTC (+00:00). If any threshold is found to be exceeded, a notification email is sent out. This contains information about which threshold has been exceeded, as well as a detailed overview of used metrics in total and per instance. This notification is only sent out on the first event crossing the threshold in a given month.&#x20;

Please note that new Usage Events created are effective immediately for the current month. This means that if the respective threshold has been already exceeded at the time of creation, a notification will be sent out the following day.

## Administration <a href="#id-account-usageevents-overview" id="id-account-usageevents-overview"></a>

On the Usage Events page (shown above), all created Usage Events can be viewed with the respective thresholds for the different services. Please note that several Usage Events can be set for the same service.

The buttons provide the abilities to add, edit, or delete a Usage Event. The first two options will open the window shown below.

### **Name of Usage Event**

Defines the name of the Usage Event.

### **Usage Events Thresholds**

Thresholds can be defined for the Link11 services. Thresholds are tracked across all instances/ports of the respective services.&#x20;

Once selected, whole numbers (not decimals) can be entered in the fields. The units for these values are as described.&#x20;

Please note that the displayed thresholds options are not limited to the services purchased for a given account. All possible thresholds are displayed. If a threshold is set for a product that hasn’t been booked, this will still be accepted, but no notifications will be sent about this specific threshold.

### Usage Event Recipient Name <a href="#id-account-usageevents-usageeventrecipientname" id="id-account-usageevents-usageeventrecipientname"></a>

Defines the name of the recipient.

### Usage Event Recipient Mail <a href="#id-account-usageevents-usageeventrecipientmail" id="id-account-usageevents-usageeventrecipientmail"></a>

The email address to which the notification will be sent.
